How to Piece Quilting Plate

This is quilting template
Reduce vour stitch Jength to 1.5 mm to create a tight, secure stitch. Align the finished, outer edge of the petal shapes right sides together and stitch from the outer edge into the center. Press the seam allowances open to reduce bulk.

Instructions for 8 petals Quilting Plates-Cut using Template #1 and #2 

1. Cut out 8 shapes using templates #1 or #2 and finish the edges as desired
2. Piece the petals together in 4 sets of 2 petals.
3. Place a square ruler over the quarter plate shapes, aligning the 45-degree line on the ruler with the diagonal seam line between the petals. Trim the sides square.
4. Piece the four quarters together to create the Quilling Plate.
5. Prepare your background fabric by pressing a horizontal and vertical crease line. Center the seamlines of e Quilting Plate over these crease lines.
6. Pin or glue into place, then stitch along the outer edge to secure.
7. Finish the center of the plate with a circle shape cut from circle templates#7,#8, #9, or #10

1. Cut out 12 shapes using templates #3 or #4 and finish the edges as desired.
2. Piece the petals together in 4 sets of 3 petals.
3. Place a square ruler over the 1/4 plate shapes, aligning the 45-degree line on the ruler through the center of the middle petal. Trim the sides square.
4. Piece the four quarters together to create the Quilting Plate.
5. Prepare your background fabric by pressing a horizontal and vertical crease line. Center the seamlines of the Quilling Plate over these crease lines.
6. Pin or glue into place, then stitch along the edge to secure
7. Finish the center of the plate with a circle shape cut from circle templates #7,#8, #9, or #10.

Instructions for 16 petal Quilting Plates - Cut using Template #5 and #6 

1. Cut out 16 shapes using templates #5 or #6 and finish the edges as desired.
2. Piece the petals together in 4 sets of 4 petals
3. Place a square ruler over the 14 plate shapes, aligning the 45-degree line on the ruler with the diagonal seam line between the petals. Trim the sides square.
4. Piece the four quarters together to create the Quilting Plate.
5. Prepare your background fabric by pressing a horizontal and vertical crease line. Center the seamlines of the Quilting Plate over these crease lines.
6. Pin or glue into place, then stitch along the edge to secure.
7. Finish the center of the plate with a circle shape cut from circle templates#7, #8, #9, or #10

Mix and Match

This unique set of templates can be mixed and matched in creative ways to create dozens of Quilting Plate blocks. Mix up the plates with curved and pointy edge petals. You can also combine petals cut from different templates to create funky combinations. Check out the dozens of styles.

Bonus -Tumbler Templates

Templates #1, #3, and #5 can also be used to cut Tumbler shapes to piece together to create unique quilts. Cut out the shapes from 5-inch strips of fabric. Arrange so the wide and narrow sides of the tumbler shape alternate to create a straight line. Piece together with a 1/4 inch seam allowance to create rows of pieced tumbler shapes.

Bonus- Ruler Foot Quilting Templates
