What makes this ruler special is that it can cut 4 shapes in 4 sizes!!

All sizes listed are finished sizes. - Pieces will include a 1/4" seam allowance when cut.
Hexagons - 2", 4", 6", 8"
Half Hexagons - 2", 4", 6", 8"
Jewels - 3", 6", 9", 12"
60° Triangles - 1", 2", 3", 4"

I'm going to start with the 60° Triangle. It is the easiest shape to cut and you have little to no waste when cutting them. The Diamond Patchwork Ruler can cut four sizes of 60° Triangles. The measurements are from the base of the triangle to the tip, not along one side.

Four Sizes -  1", 2", 3", 4"

With today's tutorial I'm demonstrating how to cut a 3" Finished Size 60° Triangle.

1. Start with a 3 1/2" x width of fabric strip.

2. Place ruler as shown aligning the top of fabric strip with the solid horizontal 3 1/2" triangle line.

3. Cut along both edges of ruler to trim strip.

4. Rotate ruler 180° and align ruler with cut edge to continue cutting triangles along the strip.

The next shape we are doing to cut is the Half Hex. It is the second easiest shape to cut and you also have little to no waste when cutting them. TheDiamond Patchwork Ruler can cut four sizes of Half Hexagons. The measurements are based on the size of a full hexagon. This means that the 6" Half Hexagon will measure 3" finished in height.Four Sizes -  2", 4", 6", 8"

With today's tutorial I'm demonstrating how to cut a 6" Size Half Hex.1. Start with a 3 1/2" x width of fabric strip.
2. Place ruler as shown aligning the top of fabric strip with the solid horizontal 6 1/2" hexagon line, and the bottom of fabric strip with the solid 6 1/2" half hex line.

3. Cut along right edge of ruler to trim strip.

4. Flip fabric over to the wrong side. Align cut edges with solid 6 1/2" hexagon and 6 1/2" half hex lies.

5. Cut along right edge of ruler to complete half hex.

6. Turn strip around 180° to cut the next half hexagon. Align ruler and trim off dog ears.

7. Flip fabric back over to the right side. Align cut edges with solid 6 1/2" hexagon and 6 1/2" half hex lies. Cut along right edge of ruler to trip strip.

The next shape we are doing to cut is the Hexagon. The Diamond Patchwork Ruler can cut four sizes of Hexagons. The measurements are based on the height of the hexagon. This makes rotary cutting the hexagons from strips simple & easy!

Four Sizes -  2", 4", 6", 8"

With today's tutorial I'm demonstrating how to cut a 4" Finished Size Hexagon.
1. Start with a 4 1/2" x width of fabric strip.
2. Place ruler as shown aligning the fabric strip with the solid horizontal 4 1/2" hexagon lines.

3. Cut along right edge of ruler to trim strip.

4. Turn strip around 180°

5. Align cut edges with solid 4 1/2" hexagons lines on ruler.

6. Cut along right edge of ruler to complete hexagon.

7. Turn strip around 180° to cut the next hexagon. Align solid horizontal 4 1/2" hexagon lines.

8. Cut along right edge of ruler to trip strip. Discard triangles or cut small 1" triangles for another project. Repeat steps above to continue cutting hexagons along the strip.

The same 4 1/2" strip can be used to cut multiple shapes. You can cut a 4" Hexagon, 8" Half Hexagon and a 4" 60° Triangle.

The last shape we are doing to cut is the Jewel. The Diamond Patchwork Ruler can cut four sizes of Jewels. The measurements are based on the height of the Jewel.

Four Sizes -  3", 6", 9", 12"

With today's tutorial I'm demonstrating how to cut a 9" Finished Size Jewel.

1. Start with a 9 1/2" x width of fabric strip.

2. Place ruler as shown aligning the top of the 9 1/2" jewel shape (also happens to be the 6 1/2" hex line) with the top edge of the fabric strip.

3. Cut along right edge of ruler to trim strip.

4. Flip fabric over to the wrong side. Align top of fabric strip with the top of the 9 1/2" jewel shape & the cut edges with the solid 9 1/2" jewel line.

5. Cut along right edge of ruler to complete the jewel.

6. Rotate the fabric strip 180° to cut the next jewel. Align ruler & trim off the excess fabric.

7. Flip fabric back over to the right side. Align top of fabric strip with the top of the 9 1/2" jewel shape & the cut edges with the solid 9 1/2" jewel line.

8. Cut along right edge of ruler to complete the jewel.
